Turkey’s Minister of Treasury and Finance, Mehmet Şimşek, provided an assessment of the country’s economic performance for the third quarter of 2024 on November 29, 2024. According to the report, Turkey’s economy grew by 2.1% annually during the third quarter. Cumulatively, the economy recorded a total growth of 3.2% for the first three quarters of 2024.
The Minister attributed these results to a necessary rebalancing program aimed at ensuring sustainable growth. During the third quarter, seasonally adjusted employment figures indicated an increase of 1 million jobs, while the unemployment rate was reported at 8.7%.
These developments reflect ongoing efforts to stabilize and expand the Turkish economy amid current challenges.
