On June 28, 2024, during a meeting of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), Turkey was officially removed from the grey list. The announcement was made by Mehmet Şimşek, Turkey’s Minister of Treasury and Finance, who represented the country at the event. Under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the government continues to work towards enhancing confidence in the financial system through collaboration between the public and private sectors. Turkey remains committed to combating the financing of terrorism and money laundering as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen its financial integrity.
