TARSİM participated in the 3rd International Insurance Summit held on October 1-2 in Istanbul, organized by the Turkey Insurance Association (TSB) as part of the 13th Insurance Week. The summit focused on addressing ongoing issues in the insurance sector and developing solutions.
The opening remarks featured T.C. Ministry of Treasury and Finance Deputy Minister Osman Çelik, SEDDK President Davut Menteş, and TSB President Uğur Gülen. Deputy Minister Çelik highlighted the expected economic growth of 3.5% for Turkey in 2024, with a target of 5% by 2027, emphasizing the importance of fiscal discipline. He discussed the Mid-Term Program aimed at achieving price stability and sustainable economic growth, while also sharing insights on the insurance sector’s contributions and developments in participation insurance.
President Menteş noted the proactive steps taken to enhance the resilience of the insurance sector and confirmed ongoing collaborations with companies under the Turkey Insurance Association.
The event included notable representatives such as TARSİM Board Member and General Manager Bekir Engürülü, and Deputy General Manager Tufan Özel, alongside numerous stakeholders from both national and international sectors. Under the theme “Reducing the Protection Gap: Turkey’s Journey Towards Resilience and Sustainability,” the summit underscored the increasing significance of insurance due to natural disasters triggered by climate change, highlighting the opportunities presented to the insurance sector amidst global transformations.
The collective message reinforced the essential role of agricultural insurance, encapsulated in the phrase “Agricultural Insurance is a Must!”
