Pool Re has appointed Andrew Stark as its new head of underwriting, a newly created position aimed at guiding the company through significant upcoming changes in its reinsurance scheme. Stark, who has over 20 years of experience in underwriting and previously led property at Chord Re, will report to Chief Underwriting Officer Jonathan Gray. This appointment is part of Pool Re’s transition to an annual aggregate excess of loss treaty scheme set to start in April 2025. Stark expressed enthusiasm for joining the organization at a critical time, emphasizing the importance of its role in bolstering national resilience against terrorism.
