A former Twitter employee has won an arbitration case regarding unpaid severance from Elon Musk after being laid off during his acquisition of the company in 2022. The arbitrator has awarded the full severance package to the employee, which could establish a precedent for around 2,000 other former employees who have similar claims against the company. Following this ruling, the attorney for the winning employee expressed hope that more favorable decisions could prompt Twitter/X to negotiate settlements for all affected ex-employees. In July, Musk had previously won a separate lawsuit that alleged he owed at least $500 million in severance to many laid-off workers.
