Wesley Allen Proffitt, a 49-year-old insurance agent from Mountain Home, has been arrested on felony charges of insurance fraud. The charge stems from an incident where Proffitt allegedly misrepresented a water leak at his residence after a city employee investigated the claim and reported no leak. Following the investigation, Proffitt purchased an insurance policy that included service line coverage, which he claimed was influenced by a colleague’s similar water leak claim. He was booked at the Baxter County Detention Center and released on a $5,000 bond.
