Progressive Home to Discontinue Dwelling Fire Insurance to Focus on Primary Residences

Latest News

Progressive Home has announced it will discontinue its dwelling fire (DP-3) insurance policies for non-primary residences, as part of its strategy to focus more on owner-occupied homeowners’ insurance. This decision means that starting November 19, no new DP-3 policies will be issued, and current policyholders will receive nonrenewal notices in accordance with state regulations. The DP-3 policy represented only 3.6% of Progressive’s total property policies, prompting the company’s shift towards enhancing its offerings for primary residences. Progressive intends to leverage this realignment to build a stronger property insurance business for both consumers and independent agents.
