At the 20th Singapore International Reinsurance Conference (SIRC), Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong highlighted strategies to bolster the nation’s role as Asia’s premier reinsurance hub amid key transitions such as climate change and digital development. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the ecosystem of insurers and reinsurers, developing capabilities in artificial intelligence, and expanding alternative risk transfer instruments like insurance-linked securities. These initiatives aim to enhance the region’s risk financing capacity and support sustainable development in the insurance sector. Approximately 3,300 delegates from over 65 countries are attending the event, which concludes on November 7.
