A J.D. Power study has revealed that independent insurance agents’ satisfaction with personal and commercial lines insurers remains high, with commercial lines satisfaction reaching a record score of 781 out of 1,000. Despite this positive outlook, tighter underwriting standards have strained the relationship between agents and insurers, making it more challenging for agents to secure policies for their clients. The research indicates that many agents are actively seeking better rates and coverage options for clients, necessitating increased effort in collaborating with insurers. Notably, Erie Insurance topped the rankings for personal lines, while Auto-Owners Insurance led in commercial lines for the fourth year in a row.
