Insurance Companies Urged To Standardize Pricing Practices

Latest News

The Turkish Insurance Agents Association (SAİK) has issued a cautionary advisory to insurance agents regarding competitive practices among insurance companies. Some firms have been offering policies at lower rates than their agent partners, creating an environment of unfair competition. The association recommends that agents exercise caution and consider selecting companies that maintain consistent pricing across various distribution channels and their own sales.

To strengthen the position of the SAİK Executive Committee and to advocate against pricing disparities, Durmuş Gümüş, General Secretary of AFSAD, is requesting the cooperation of agencies to gather data on this issue. Agents are encouraged to report on companies that sell policies cheaper than the agency’s rates, provide promotions, and implement different pricing strategies within their distribution channels.

Confidentiality is assured, as the identities of the reporting agencies will remain anonymous throughout this data collection effort.
