Ayhan Kılavuz, President of the Insurance Producers Association (SİİD), expressed strong criticism of the Turkish Insurance Agency Federation (TÜSAF) following their recent statements. Kılavuz emphasized that insurance agents have long been voicing their concerns and expectations for TÜSAF to take concrete actions, including studies, reports, and effective initiatives, rather than merely echoing complaints.
He urged TÜSAF to break away from its passive stance and instead generate innovative ideas and projects to address the industry’s challenges. Kılavuz metaphorically described the situation as akin to barren lands waiting for rain, calling for TÜSAF to return to its foundational objectives to better serve the needs of insurance agents.
Additionally, Kılavuz highlighted the necessity for TÜSAF to be more inclusive by welcoming insurance agency organizations outside of its member provincial associations. He cautioned that organizations that fail to evolve may wither away, comparing such entities to leaves that fall from trees in the wind, thus emphasizing the urgency for TÜSAF to become a proactive and dynamic force that merits appreciation from insurance agents.
He concluded with a plea for a restructured and responsive alignment within TÜSAF, driven by the needs of a diverse network of over 6,000 insurance agencies and the vast population in Istanbul. Kılavuz’s remarks stress the importance of collaborative growth and productive engagement within the sector.
