TSB Calls on Public to Verify Claims Amid False Allegations
TSB said false claims about member companies' financial standing were circulating on social media and called on the public to seek accurate information.

As a public announcement, TSB regularly shares information about the insurance sector with the public within the principles of transparency, accountability and auditability. In recent days, misleading and unfounded claims about the financial standing of the association's member insurance companies, made using their names, have been observed on some social media platforms. Such content misleads the public and causes reputational damage in the sector.
It is stressed that the public should not give credence to such unfounded and unverified posts. Accurate, up-to-date and reliable information should only be obtained through the association's official communication channels and official announcements made by SEDDK.
Under paragraph seven of Article 35 of Insurance Law No. 5684, individuals who make unfounded statements or reports that damage the sector's reputation or the financial standing of companies face one to two years' imprisonment and a judicial fine of not less than 200 days. In this context, legal action will be taken immediately against any persons or institutions engaging in the activities described above.
