TSB represented Türkiye's insurance sector at Kazakhstan forum

TSB (Türkiye's insurance and pension industry association) represented Türkiye's insurance sector at the Kazakhstan Insurance Forum 2026 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. TSB Chair Ahmet Yaşar, Vice Chair Ayhan Sincek and Deputy Secretary General Şenol S. Şentürk attended the forum.

Yaşar spoke as a panelist in the session "Silk Road Insurance Belt: Integration of Turkic Markets." In the session, Yaşar shared the sector's experience, the structural steps taken recently and the sector's outlook for the coming period.

The panel addressed Türkiye's experience with mandatory disaster insurance and the lessons drawn from the 2023 earthquakes, the importance of international reinsurance, areas of development in health and life insurance, and narrowing the insurance protection gap.

Pointing to structural steps recently taken in Türkiye's insurance market, Yaşar highlighted the work carried out by SEDDK (Türkiye's insurance and pension regulator) to improve claims management in motor insurance and strengthen the sustainability of the system, as well as regulations implemented to strengthen the sector's capital structure and financial resilience. Yaşar said these steps make an important contribution to the development of a stronger, more predictable and sustainable insurance market.

Yaşar also pointed to the importance of addressing risk reduction and risk transfer together in the face of growing natural disaster and climate risks, and of preserving insurability and accessibility. Yaşar said one of the key growth areas for Türkiye's insurance sector is narrowing the protection gap to bring insurance to wider parts of society and the economy. TSB said it places importance on increasing the sharing of knowledge and experience among Turkic-world insurance markets, strengthening cooperation and developing joint opportunities.
