A recent survey by Howden revealed that cyberattacks have cost UK businesses around £44 billion (US$55.3 billion) in lost revenue over the past five years. Of the 1.3 million private sector companies surveyed, 52% reported experiencing at least one cyberattack, with larger firms (over £100 million in revenue) being particularly targeted. Despite the prevalent threats, many businesses lack basic cybersecurity measures, with only 61% using antivirus software and 55% employing firewalls. To enhance resilience, businesses advocate for new policies such as tax relief on cyber investments and access to cybersecurity expertise.
