Kevin Rethual has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Munich Re Retakaful, set to take office on June 1, 2026. Based in Malaysia, he succeeds Serena Thio, who has made significant strides in the company before transitioning to a senior advisory role until her retirement later in 2026. Rethual, who joined Munich Re Retakaful in 2021, has held various key positions, including Chief Commercial Officer. Owais Ansari, Head of Regional Market Reinsurance for the Middle East and Africa, praised Rethual’s expertise in leadership and strategy, expressing confidence in his ability to drive the company’s growth.
