The final event of the DASK Earthquake-Resistant Building Design Competition took place in Gaziantep, Turkey, with the esteemed attendance of Mehmet Şimşek, the Minister of Treasury and Finance. This year’s competition showcased the hard work of finalist teams over several months, culminating in an intense four-day gathering.
In its seventh edition, the competition acknowledged Altınbaş University as the winner, followed by Gebze Technical University in second place and Istanbul Technical University in third. Additionally, six special awards were presented during the ceremony. Hacettepe University was honored with the Best Architecture Special Award, while Altınbaş University received the Best Earthquake Performance Special Award. The Turkish Reasinsurance Special Award went to Adana Alparslan Türkeş Science and Technology University, with Erzurum Technical University recognized for Best Communication Skills and Presentation. Sakarya University was awarded for Best Use of Social Media, and Yıldız Technical University won the Spirit of the Competition Award, as determined by peer voting. The Most Creative Project Name Award was claimed by MEF University.
The event emphasized the importance of resilient buildings and strong futures, acknowledging the dedication of all participating students, their supportive mentors, and everyone who contributed to the competition.
