The International Insurance Summit commenced with an opening address by Mr. Uğur Gülen, Chairman of the Insurance Association of Türkiye and Board Member of Aksigorta.
In his speech, Gülen underscored the pressing global protection gap, pinpointing four pivotal macro factors contributing to this issue: geopolitical developments and regional conflicts; the digital transformation brought about by cyberattacks and artificial intelligence; natural disasters; and the impacts of climate change and demographic shifts.
Gülen warned that the rise of generative AI is likely to escalate cyber risks, suggesting that cyber risk insurance will gain prominence in the near future. He articulated the summit’s primary goal: to collaboratively reduce the protection gap in the insurance sector.
