On February 4, 2025, a significant panel on insurance was held in Kahramanmaraş, hosted by the Kahramanmaraş Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KMTSO) and moderated by Noyan Doğan, producer of NTV’s “Bakış” program and columnist for Hürriyet. Key participants included Uğur Gülen, President of the Turkey Insurance Association (TSB); Hikmet Gümüşer, Vice President of KMTSO; Ahmet Yaşar, Deputy President of TSB and Head of the Maher Holding Insurance Group; Levent Korkut, President of the TOBB SAİK; and Serpil Günal, General Secretary of DASK.
The panel discussed the crucial role of the insurance sector in aiding the recovery efforts following the devastating Kahramanmaraş earthquakes of February 6, 2023, which tragically claimed thousands of lives and significantly impacted millions in the region.
