BOTAŞ and ASFAT have announced a collaboration to construct a “Marine Cleanup and Oil Recovery Vessel,” with classification services provided by Turkish Lloyd. Designed by Navtek, the vessel will adhere to international maritime standards during its construction.
This multipurpose ship will be capable of executing numerous critical operations independently, including oil recovery from the sea surface, collection of liquid and solid waste from ships, installation and retrieval of barriers, deployment and recovery of skimmers, firefighting, and towing floating storage tanks.
Turkish Lloyd emphasizes its commitment to maritime safety and environmental sustainability by participating in this innovative project, which aims to contribute significantly to the fight against marine pollution.
