The Royal Malaysian Navy is set to enhance its maritime capabilities with the construction of three Ada-class MILGEM corvettes, classified by Türk Loydu. This initiative is being spearheaded by STM as the primary contractor. Each corvette measures 99.56 meters in length, 14.42 meters in width, and features a draft of 3.94 meters, with a displacement capacity of approximately 2,500 tons. These vessels are engineered to achieve a maximum speed of 26 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots, aligning with the operational requirements of the Malaysian naval forces.
This development not only reflects STM’s commitment to modernizing the Royal Malaysian Navy but also underscores the growing cooperation between Turkey and Malaysia in defense and naval engineering.
