A delegation from the Turkish Insurance Agency (SAB), consisting of President Ayhan Çalık, Vice President Burcu Hatice Büyükoğlu Buran, and Board Member Murat Arseven, visited Gökhan Ay, the Director of Segem. The meeting focused on the responsibilities of Segem, an institution tasked with the education, evaluation, and certification of all professionals working within the insurance sector, including agents, brokers, experts, and technical staff.

Discussions highlighted the growing need for enhanced knowledge within the sector and emphasized the critical role of Segem in supporting industry growth and development. The attendees agreed on the importance of structuring upcoming initiatives to serve the needs of agent segmentation effectively.

A proposal was made in SAB’s regulatory commission suggesting that training for new entrants into the sector should concentrate specifically on agent segmentation, as this has become a necessity rather than a choice. It was noted that updating the Segem certification every five years presents an opportunity for the sector, as incorporating feedback on information needs and sales techniques during this update could significantly contribute to industry expansion.

Furthermore, while there will not be a pass/fail exam after renewal training, conducting surveys or assessments to evaluate comprehension could fortify Segem’s impact in the insurance field.
