The “Women in Insurance Summit,” organized by the Women Insurers Association (KASİDER) and supported by Zurich Insurance Group Turkey, successfully concluded with impactful discussions on gender equality within the industry. At the summit, Zurich Life and Pension General Manager Atilla Benli highlighted the crucial role women play in a trust-centered sector like insurance, stating, “Women not only break glass ceilings but also inspire us all with their achievements.”
Benli acknowledged that while the insurance sector is making positive strides, it still lags behind in achieving gender equality and fostering women’s leadership within management roles. He pointed out the pervasive non-equal attitudes of predominantly male upper management towards providing opportunities for women. He emphasized that at Zurich Turkey, 57% of the workforce are women, with female representation at the management level reaching 50%. Benli discussed the company’s commitment to gender equality through targeted initiatives and social responsibility projects aimed at empowering women.
The event also featured participation from Zurich Turkey’s General Managers and female executives. Banu Tunce, Deputy General Manager of Zurich Turkey and a member of KASİDER’s Board, accepted a plaque of appreciation on behalf of the entire Zurich Turkey team.
