Bodily Injury Training Held Again: 60 Attendees From 32 Firms
The Bodily Injury Claims Training, run by SBM, SİSEB and TSB, was held for the second time in May 2025, drawing 60 participants from 32 firms.

A training programme focused on the technical and legal assessment of bodily injury claim files in the insurance sector was held for the second time in May 2025. The "Bodily Injury Training," run jointly by SBM (Türkiye's insurance information and monitoring centre), the Insurance Fraud Prevention Bureau (SİSEB) and TSB (Türkiye's insurance and pension industry association), had first been held the previous year and was repeated due to strong demand from insurance companies.
Content of the training
The training was given by Dr. Serdar Şirazi, an expert witness for the Insurance Arbitration Commission, a lawyer and an orthopaedics and traumatology specialist. The programme was titled "The Role and Legal Assessment of Disability and Forensic Board Reports in Insurance Practice in the Life, Personal Accident and Bodily Injury Lines."
A total of 60 participants from 32 insurance companies and institutions took part in the training. Feedback from participants at the end of the programme was reported to be positive, with an expectation expressed that such events would continue.
Why bodily injury?
Disability and forensic board reports lie at the core of claim payment calculations in the life and personal accident insurance lines. The criteria under which these reports are drawn up, the circumstances in which they can be contested, and how they are assessed in arbitration and court proceedings are among the issues claims departments face directly.
SİSEB, one of the training's partners, is a body set up to combat fraud in the sector; the institution also operates an online channel for reporting suspicious transactions.
