Bulk Carrier BODRUM-M Enters Türk Loydu Classification
Türk Loydu announced in May 2025 that bulk carrier BODRUM-M had completed class entry with ORONTES DENİZCİLİK, approved to international standards.

Türk Loydu announced in May 2025 that the class entry process for the bulk carrier BODRUM-M had been successfully completed, within its cooperation with ORONTES DENİZCİLİK A.Ş.
According to the announcement, the ship was approved after a comprehensive review against international standards and Türk Loydu's technical requirements. The cooperation between the two companies was said to continue with the aim of increasing safety and sustainability at sea.
What does classing mean?
Classification societies are independent bodies that inspect the design, structure and equipment of ships against technical rules they set. A ship "entering class" means its compliance with these rules is documented through surveys. A class certificate is a critical reference for a ship's seaworthiness, port state control inspections and, in particular, marine insurance: in hull and machinery and protection and indemnity (P&I) insurance, insurers look for the ship to be on the register of a recognised classification society as a basic condition.
Türk Loydu's position
Founded in 1962, Türk Loydu is Türkiye's national classification society, providing services in the classing of ships and marine structures, industrial certification and training. The company provides survey and certification services to Turkish-flagged ships as well as vessels operating in international waters. BODRUM-M's entry into class was announced as one of the steps expanding the company's portfolio of classed vessels.
The announcement did not include details of the ship's tonnage and technical specifications.
