Eaton Vance Boosts Investments in Insurance-Linked Securities by Over 126%
Eaton Vance significantly increased its investments in insurance-linked securities to $680 million.

Eaton Vance, a subsidiary of Morgan Stanley Investment Management, has ramped up its investments in insurance-linked securities (ILS) and reinsurance sidecars, witnessing a remarkable 126% surge to nearly $680 million by April 30, 2026. This growth includes new allocations to structures linked to Arch Capital, PartnerRe, QBE, and an unnamed entity. Notable investments feature QBE’s George Town Re sidecar and a PartnerRe-managed sidecar, possibly under the Lorenz Re framework. Although these ILS investments currently make up only 3.6% and 1.2% of the Global Opportunities and Global Macro portfolios respectively, they underscore a broader trend among multi-asset managers seeking diversification beyond traditional index funds.
