Moody’s Corporation is making strategic strides in the insurance-linked securities (ILS) market, evidenced by its role in rating German insurer Gothaer’s EUR 100 million flood catastrophe bond, Yardstick Re DAC (Series 2026-1). During a recent earnings call, CEO Rob Fauber emphasized the “One Moody’s” strategy, which combines credit ratings and catastrophe modeling to tackle an estimated $375 billion insurance protection gap. The company assigned a Baa2 (sf) rating to the bond and reported a 9% revenue increase in its insurance vertical, reaching $183 million. Fauber is optimistic about future opportunities, bolstered by advancements to their Intelligent Risk Platform and successful partnerships in the insurance sector.
