Morocco’s Insurance and Social Security Supervisory Authority (ACAPS) has announced that its proposed Risk-Based Capital (RBC) system is nearing completion, with the model now stabilized after a third series of tests. The RBC system, which is expected to be implemented in 2025, aims to ensure that insurance companies have sufficient capital to cover their risks. The tests showed that the sector’s solvency would decrease from 3.5 to 2.25 under the new system, but the situation remains comfortable for the market. The RBC system consists of three pillars: quantitative, qualitative, and reporting and disclosure.
