The 2024 General Assessment Meeting of TARSİM took place on January 2nd at the organization’s headquarters in Istanbul. The meeting featured prominent attendees including Dr. Ahmet Bağcı, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry; Davut Menteş, President of the Insurance and Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Authority (SEDDK); and Dr. Osman Yıldız, General Director of Agricultural Reform at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and Chairman of the TARSİM Board. Other key figures included Hande Hatunoğlu Kurtulan, Vice Chairwoman of the TARSİM Board, and Kamil Özdemir, Director of Agricultural Insurance and Natural Disasters at the Ministry.
The discussions focused on the national crop insurance system, with evaluations for 2024 and insights into planned initiatives for 2025. Both Dr. Bağcı and Menteş highlighted strategic goals for the future of agricultural insurance, emphasizing its critical role in safeguarding the agricultural sector against risks.
