On November 25, a delegation led by Prof. Dr. Ahmet GÜMEN, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, visited Antalya to assess damage caused by severe weather, including tornadoes, storms, and flooding, particularly in the districts of Aksu and Serik. Accompanying him were Uğur ERDEM, General Director of Plant Production, Kamil ÖZDEMİR, Head of the Department of Agricultural Insurance and Natural Disasters, and TARSİM Board Member, as well as Tufan ÖZEL, TARSİM Deputy General Manager.
During the visit, the team conducted evaluations of affected greenhouses and gathered updates on ongoing damage assessment efforts. Prof. Dr. GÜMEN highlighted the quick response by TARSİM in expediting damage assessment processes. He urged producers to remain vigilant regarding their agricultural insurance needs, emphasizing the importance of securing insurance in light of changing climate conditions.
As a result of the visit, there were discussions on the urgent need for producers to protect their investments through regular insurance coverage in an increasingly unpredictable climate.
