On May 6, 2023, the TARSİM (Agricultural Insurance Pool) conducted a comprehensive training session for livestock insurance experts in Tekirdağ, aimed at introducing new applications under the State-Supported Agricultural Insurance System and enhancing the knowledge of insurance professionals.

Key attendees included Kamil Özdemir, Head of the Agriculture Insurance and Natural Disasters Department at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Işıl Şekercı Konya, Head of the Non-Life Regulation Department at the Insurance and Private Pension Regulatory and Supervisory Authority (SEDDK), Bekir Engürülü, General Manager of the Agricultural Insurance Pool, and Tufan Özel, Deputy General Manager, along with local insurance experts.

In his opening remarks, Kamil Özdemir highlighted the critical role of experts in TARSİM’s ongoing success and its recognition as a global model for agricultural insurance. Işıl Şekercı Konya discussed the evolution of the State-Supported Agricultural Insurance System and wished the experts success in their endeavors. Bekir Engürülü emphasized the growing importance of TARSİM in ensuring agricultural sustainability amid increasing risks and natural disasters attributed to climate change, stressing the significance of risk assessment and damage detection processes.

The training included presentations on essential considerations for risk evaluation and damage assessment in livestock insurance, along with an analysis of the 2023 State-Supported Livestock Life Insurance and innovations planned for 2024. Experts were also invited to engage with the presentations, allowing for an interactive learning environment regarding their field.

This initiative underscores TARSİM’s commitment to improving agricultural insurance practices and the expertise of its professionals amidst evolving environmental challenges.
